Hi Everyone! Just a quick update. Mom and Dad had a Care Plan Meeting on Tuesday and although nothing is in stone - and we continue to take things one day at a time - there is a possibility that Mom could go home in a couple of weeks! Of course, she will continue getting therapy after she gets home but wouldn't it be better to be in the comforts of your own home? Yes!
Thank you for the prayers for her spirits. It's amazing how God listens. I cannot tell you the difference in her mood. She said last night "I...think...my...pain...is...gone." She wasn't talking about physical pain - she was talking about her sadness.
Thank you so much. I hope that you will call on our family to pray for you when you are in need. Many of you are already on our prayer lists but we are happy to add more. Hopefully, all is going well for you and we'll be celebrating Mom's return to home soon!
Much love...

What a tremendous wife LaDonna has been. She had to be great to put up with you. Remember we were playing in a church and the offering plate went by and you said to me, "I got 50 cents. How much did you get?" And then remember Canada when the guard asked me the value of my trombone and I said $250 and Ralph said the same and you said "$25.00". The guard had to laugh and let us through. No wonder Donna is such a marvelous person putting up with you all these years. I love you so much.

Your comment made me chuckle. A friend just walked by my office and looked at me smiling...I'm sure he was wondering what I was up to!!
Nelson and LaDonna!
What great news about possibly coming home soon! Brad and I have been praying for your FAST recovery! Looks like it is working. That is a good picture of you Nelson-LOL! Anyway, we are sooooooo glad that the swwet friend we had play piano in our wedding back in 1999 is getting better! With much love, Brad and Niki Snyder.
PS - Susan and Eugene Snyder of Boonville , Indiana say Hello and are praying for you too!
Today (Friday) was a very eventful day. #1 -- La Donna walked 55 feet on the hemiwalker cane (a new record for her). She is moving her right foot much better now (though she still needs the therapist's assistance to maintain her balance.
#2 -- Nelson took more training for transferring her (including taking La Donna out to the car and putting her in and out of it).
#3 -- They are going to let us take her home Sunday for an 8 hour furlough ... all by myself with no therapists coming along. This is in preparation for her "graduating" from her hospital therapy to home therapy or outpatient therapy. People who have visited her of late are absolutely amazed at the change they have seen in three weeks. We are grateful to God and to Riverview for the progress we are seeing.

A suggestion for those who wish to visit La Donna in the hospital ... Therapy keeps her busy most of the day besides meals. After supper (5:30 or so) she is probably ready for company.
She is not good for long visits, so I suggest you put a mint or life savor in your mouth before you go into her room, and when the mint or life savor has melted in your mouth it might be a good time to say good bye. (That is a trick I employed when I was in the active pastoral ministry, and it served me well.)
But don't be misled ... she loves to see her friends and you are most welcome (for a short visit).
