What a great family we have!Monte (who owns his own construction business) brought in some of his men to refit our house with the equipment needed for her stroked condition – lowered bed from 34 inches high; removed some doors from hinges so the wheel chair could get through more easily; established a grab bar in the bathroom to help La Donna stand; refitted lounge chair to remove the tilt and swivel mechanisms to provide a more secure foundation for her sitting down and getting up.
Audi established her blog (lamentations3.blogspot.com) to keep all our friends informed about La Donna’s progress; has used her skills as a Speech Pathologist to help her overcome her aphasia (speech difficulties); and has guided us in all our medical decisions.
Lori has redecorated our house with a Spring Theme (to Mom’s relief); has spent a great deal of time sitting with her and caring for her; BUT MOST OF ALL, SHE HAS SET UP A PROGRAM WHEREBY MOM CAN PLAY THE LEFT HAND PIANO PART WHILE LORI PLAYS THE RIGHT HAND PART (RECORDED) ON THE ROLAND KR3 DIGITAL PIANO. She has provided a written musical score for the left hand so La Donna can get back into using her piano in a meaningful way.
And the original arrangement Lori has written so beautifully – “IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL” … is that not prophetic?

Brother Nelson, ... I totally agree with you with regard to your family; and I'm sure you also realize how rare it is these days to have a nuclear family close enough physically, as well as emotionally, to actively participate in the lives of the patriarch and matriarch of the family when they are challenged as you two have been in the last few years. You are blessed beyond most, my brother!
And may I say, having known one of your daugthers [Audi] for over two decades, both professionally and personally, I am uplifted, and maybe even a bit jealous, of the way your kids have rallied to your side when you almost died a couple of years ago and now in Ladonna's challenge. But maybe my kids would do so as well and I just don't have the confidence in my parenting over the years to think that they would.
Nelson, ... truly "It Is Well" with you and Ladonna in the Chamberlain clan; and I praise God for your kids and the way they have come into and along side you in these recent challenges for your beloved wife. And God is honored as your kids honor you and Ladonna.
